Viet-My Bui: Digital Art is Easy to Learn, but Hard to Master

Viet-My Bui a.k.a. Ravenskar is a self-taught artist from Melbourne, Australia. She is a commerce / laws student and has a part time job as a tutor in a primary school. Oh, and she also helps out in the family bakery when it’s needed.

Ravenskar started off with drawing three legged dinosaurs and unicorns at a very crisp age. Then she turned to anime princesses and assassins. Nowadays she mostly paints beautiful, strong female characters. Some of her creations are born from an idea sketched earlier in her journal; others are entirely made with her Wacom Intuos2 tablet, Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop.

Ravenskar likes to challenge herself: her speedpaint sessions usually last for 20-50 minutes but sometimes she spends 12-15 hours to finish a piece. She also shares things that inspire her, talks about her experiences and shows her creations in progress.
